A Day in the Life of a Talent Acquisition Manager at Code Factory
I remember joining Code Factory in January 2023 excited about what awaited me here and the kinds of roles and stakeholders I would encounter. I must say, it has been a year full of fun, building new connections, diving deep into the organization, but also challenges. Let me give you an insight into how a typical day of a Talent Acquisition Manager looks like.

Morning Routine
As an early riser, my day typically begins at 7:00 AM, just as the sun rises over Berlin. Today is one of my home office days, a time where I have the freedom to work from the comfort of my own space. With my MacBook fired up and a podcast playing in the background, I dive into the day’s tasks. My role as a Talent Acquisition Manager is dynamic, so it requires me to wear many hats and juggle multiple responsibilities.
Interviews and Diversity Initiatives
One of my first tasks on my agenda is to conduct interviews with potential candidates. I have several scheduled throughout the day, each one an opportunity to assess a candidate’s skills, experience, and cultural fit with our teams. It’s essential to thoroughly evaluate each candidate to ensure that we’re bringing the best talent into our organization. At Code Factory, we are committed to fostering diversity and inclusion, especially in the tech industry. One of the initiatives we are proud of is our support for women in tech. We recognize the importance of gender diversity and actively promote opportunities for women to thrive in our organization. Whether it’s specifically targeting women in tech while sourcing or attending events or hosting a variety of workshops, meetings at our office – we are always on the lookout of different ways to make this possible.
Collaborative Discussions
As the morning progresses, I meet with my colleagues from various departments to discuss roles or staffing needs. These collaborative discussions are essential for aligning our recruitment efforts with the company’s growth objectives. The focus here at Code Factory is to support our teams in making the best decisions, regardless of biases or prejudices. We have established clear decision-making processes and guidelines to ensure that all voices are heard and considered. We want to raise awareness amongst our colleagues about the impact of biases and provide them with tools to make objective decisions.
Communication and Breaks
Throughout the day, I stay connected with my colleagues and stakeholders through virtual meetings and our messaging platform. Whether it’s discussing a new job posting, providing feedback on a candidate, or strategizing on recruitment initiatives, communication is key in this role.
But it’s not all work and sitting in front of a screen. I make sure to take regular breaks to recharge, whether it’s a walk with my dogs or grabbing a coffee from a nearby café. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is essential, even when working from home.
Reflection & looking ahead
As the day draws to a close, I reflect on the tasks that were done and the connections that have been made. I look forward to the opportunities that tomorrow will bring, whether it’s another day in my home office or a chance to reconnect with my colleagues in person at the office.
For me, being a Talent Acquisition Manager is not just a job – it’s a way of life, filled with excitement, challenges, and endless possibilities. Being part of the journey here at Code Factory has shown me the true meaning of flexibility, with our embrace of remote work and home office options. Moreover, our commitment to diversity and inclusion makes every day a rewarding experience, knowing that we're creating an environment where everyone can thrive. I'm proud to be part of a company that values innovation, collaboration, and the wellbeing of its employees. At Code Factory, the future is bright, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes us next.
